Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 21, 2026

Wanderly ("we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our travel planning platform.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, such as your name, email, display name, profile photo, home city, and bio. We also collect the itineraries, preferences, comments, and friend connections you create. When you use the Service, we may automatically collect usage data such as the pages you visit and device information.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to generate personalized travel itineraries, display your profile and activity to people you connect with, send you trip reminders and plan emails, improve our recommendations, and keep the Service secure.

3. Sharing Your Information

We share your profile name, avatar, and shared itineraries with friends you have connected with on Wanderly. Publicly shared trip links are visible to anyone with the link. We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with service providers who help operate the Service (such as AI and email providers) under appropriate data protection agreements.

4. AI Processing

To generate itineraries and city images, we send your planning preferences (such as city, activity type, and category choices) to AI models. We do not send sensitive personal data to these models beyond what is needed to build your plan.

5. Cookies and Local Storage

We use local storage to remember preferences such as your theme (light or dark) and to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data and itineraries for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings, which removes your profile and personal data from our systems.

7. Your Rights

You may access, correct, or delete your personal information through your account settings. You can delete individual itineraries or your entire account at any time. If you have questions about exercising your rights, contact us through the Contact page.

8. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including encrypting transmissions and restricting access to authorized personnel. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

9. Children's Privacy

Wanderly is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such data, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
